When pre-orders for the new clamshell foldable first opened, Samsung.com was offering $900 in trade-in credit for either Galaxy Z Flip 3 storage variants. It only showed one option for the phone. You select it and get a $900 discount on the Galaxy Z Flip 4. But in recent days, the trade-in list started showing the 128GB and 256GB models of the Flip 3 separately, with different credit values. If you have the latter, you still get $900, but for the former, you only get $700....

According to The Elec, Samsung has removed its compatriot Partron from its camera supply chain for the upcoming foldables. The latter was a major supplier of camera modules for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 this year. It was second only to Samsung’s Electro-Mechanics division in terms of total supply volume. But the Korean firm no longer plans to use cameras from Partron in its 2023 foldables. The reason behind this change is not known....

Samsung will produce its 3nm chips using the GAAFET (gate-all-around field-effect transistor) architecture. It is an advanced chip fabrication tech and a step up from the FinFET (fin field-effect transistor) architecture that the current generation of nanometer semiconductors employ. GAAFET is said to reduce the chip size by 45 percent as compared to 5nm FinFET chips.
