According to the report, the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra currently receiving the August update in Germany. The new firmware version is G99xBXXU3AUGM. We don’t have a changelog handy, so it’s unclear if this update adds any new features and/or improvements to the Galaxy S21 series. Of course, it introduces the latest security maintenance release (SMR) to the new Samsung flagships. Samsung had begun rolling out the August security update to the Galaxy S21 series last week....

For the former three, the new SMR (security maintenance release) is currently available to unlocked models only. The OTA (over the air) package has already hit units on AT&T and Xfinity Mobile’s networks, SamMobile confirmed. The rollout should soon reach more carriers. The updated firmware version for the unlocked Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra in the US is G99*U1UES5CVCB. Users of carrier-locked models can also expect to receive the April security patch within a few days....

The October SMR (Security Maintenance Release) for the unlocked Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra in the US comes with firmware version S90U1UES2AVI5. That for the carrier-locked models is S90USQS2AVI1. Apart from next month’s security patch, the phones aren’t getting anything else. Unfortunately, Samsung has yet to detail the content of the new SMR, so we can’t precisely tell what you’re getting. That said, these monthly security updates usually bring fixes for several dozen vulnerabilities found on Google’s version of Android OS as well as Samsung’s system....
