As of this writing, the May SMR for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra is limited to unlocked units. But it shouldn’t be long before their carrier-locked counterparts join the party too. The update comes with firmware version G98*U1UES2EVE1 for the unlocked phones. The OTA (over the air) package is already available on most carrier networks, including AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. Users on the remaining few carriers should also get the update soon....

All the patch notes mention is that the update contains the most up to date security patch for the device. So this is likely just about improving security for the Verizon models of the watch and nothing more. Verizon lists the release date for the patch as October 17.
