Instagram slashes Reels payout rates Instagram slashes Reels payout rates Announced in July last year, Instagram’s Reels Play Bonus program rewards creators for making Reels. Payouts start at $600 and go all the way up to $35,000 depending on the number of views. This program is the company’s attempt to get more reputed creators onboard its app as it challenges TikTok, the platform that made short-form videos a thing. Meta, the Facebook parent that also owns Instagram, said it plans to pay out $1 billion to Reels creators through 2022....

According to the updated security bulletin on Samsung’s website, this month’s SMR contains no less than 52 CVE items (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) from Google. At least two of those vulnerabilities, which have been fixed now, were of critical severity. Meaning, they could potentially cause critical damages to users if exploited in the wild. Google also patched 36 high-risk vulnerabilities with the January 2022 SMR. Nine other CVE items, which are part of the latest Android security patch, don’t apply to Samsung devices....

The upcoming game is currently in development, and is described by the studio as a hardcore FPS title. We’re not exactly sure what that means, but we’re envisioning something along the lines of Escape From Tarkov. MADFINGER also says the game will be focusing on realism, stunning visuals, and gameplay. There is currently no name and MADFINGER doesn’t have a whole lot of details to share yet. But there are a few images of the team working on the game’s development that are worth a look....

Currently, the smart home market is too diverse and fragmented with little to no interoperability. This limits a customer’s choice for expansion once they invest in a device. The lack of interoperability between brands means they must selectively pick up devices that work in their existing ecosystem. Matter solves this problem by enabling a global standard for smart home devices. Matter-compliant devices will be interoperable irrespective of the brand that manufactures them....

The technology in question is directly related to live voice and video transmissions. According to Voxer, Facebook approached the company shortly after the app was released in 2011. The social media giant reportedly couldn’t reach an agreement with Voxer on the use of the proprietary technology. Or on its patent portfolio. Voxer had, at the time, shown Facebook its proprietary portfolio of technologies and patents. When no agreement could be found, Voxer says that Meta identified Walkie Talkie and Voxer as competitors....
